What do we believe? What guides everything we do? It can all be summed up in our mission and values.
Our mission
The mission of Calvary Lutheran Church is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We live out this mission by ascribing to five core values and growing in those values through seven spiritual steps.
Our values
What's important to Calvary? All of our programs somehow support our five core values: COME to Christ, CONNECT to grow, COMMIT to serve, CELEBRATE in community and CARRY the message.
COME to Christ |
Value statement: We value a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in order to experience and accept God's unconditional love and saving grace. Meaning: At the center of our ministries is our desire for you to "COME" to know Jesus. A growing relationship with Jesus begins with our realization that Jesus' life, death and resurrection were for you and for me. Jesus loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. |
CONNECT |
Value statement: We value membership at Calvary Lutheran Church in order to be nurtured, strengthened and supported as a member of the body of Christ. Meaning: We believe people grow best in their relationship with Jesus when they "CONNECT" with others to grow. |
COMMIT |
Value statement: We value the unique ministry of every Christian in order that each person may discover their unique calling and God-given gifts to serve the needs of others. Meaning: The Bible teaches us that God gives us gifts that we might "COMMIT" them to service of others. Calvary wants to help you do that. |
CELEBRATE |
Value statement: We value worship, song, and sacraments in order to thank and praise God and be fed by God's Word as we gather together as the body of Christ. Meaning: We "CELEBRATE" our faith through worship. We want worship to be a vital part of your life every week. |
CARRY |
Value statement: We value home and family as the place where we are nurtured and equipped in a lifestyle of faith in order to carry the message of God's love in Jesus Christ into all aspects of our everyday lives. Meaning: We "CARRY" the message to others. That begins in our family and with our friends and continues throughout the world as we together help to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus. |
